The bad news: Everyone else

OH MY GOD SOMEONE CUT US A BREAK.

Friday night, the 'Canes won 6-1 and the Sabres won 5-1 (at least we could rely on Atlanta, who beat the Habs 2-zip). Yesterday, though the Sens beat Buffalo 6-3, the Panthers won 5-3, and Carolina won 9-3. 9-3! 9! Eric Staal alone scored more goals than the Lightning! Then today, the Caps somehow couldn't put Pittsburgh away, losing 4-3 in a shootout, and Montréal, after being down 1-0 after 1, came back to win 3-1.

WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE.

We cannot rely on any help from anyone. The Penguins are sitting on the longest active winning streak, 6 games, and are 8-1-1 in their last 10. The fucking Penguins! Meanwhile, the 'Canes have outscored their opponents over their last 3 games by a combined (and now would be a good time to take a drink of water) 20-6 (and now would be a good time to spit that water everywhere). 20-6! No one loves us.

Here's how the standings end up, after today's games:

5. Montréal - 77 pts, 16 GR
6. Florida - 76 pts, 16 GR
7. NEW YORK RANGERS - 76 pts, 16 GR
8. Pittsburgh - 76 pts, 15 GR
--------------------------
9. Carolina - 75 pts, 15 GR
10. Buffalo - 73 pts, 16 GR

Oh, and tomorrow night, we're in Carolina.
