Next Season's Rule Changes

So, as you know, the NHL is constantly attempting to "improve" itself to attract new fans. You've probably heard me use the analogy of selling cars to people without driver's licenses. This usually has the added bonus of pissing off actual hockey fans to the point where they stop watching, thus totaling a net loss in NHL fans, usually in the name of "more goals equals better sport." I can't prove that it has had any particular effect, but I do know that the Penguins scored an incredible 20 goals in 4 games to sweep the Eastern Conference finals this season, compared to the 27 they scored in 8 games to sweep the Wales Conference finals AND the Cup finals in 1992.
